Scarlatti recorded in record time February 15, 2007
Pianist Francesco Nicolosi has recorded the latest volume in Naxos’ complete keyboard sonatas of Domenico Scarlatti. Perhaps a natural affinity between musician and composer, both originated in Southern Italy, meant the sessions concluded in record time. Performing at Potton Hall, Suffolk, England, Nicolosi played with a crisp, lively and bel canto style, recording the complete CD in six hours on 2 February. After two small corrections were made the album was complete by noon the following day. |
