Carl Davis conducts programme of blockbuster film scores
April 13, 2007
Through April 2-3 composer Carl Davis conducted the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic in a programme of blockbuster film music. Davis scored the BBC's Pride and Prejudice (1995) and re-scored ‘silent’ epics such as Ben Hur and Napoleon.
Davis and producer Andrew Walton were pleased with the sessions and the CD will be launched at a special concert in Liverpool on Friday 23 November. Music recorded included Davis' Champions, plus Dances with Wolves, Titanic, Forrest Gump, Spiderman, Gladiator, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Schindler's List and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
