Two Works by Sergei Taneyev Recorded in Moscow

From May 2 to 8, the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Thomas Sanderling, recorded Sergei Taneyev’s Cantata Joann Damaskin (John of Damascus), Op. 1 (1884), and Suite de Concert, Op. 28 (1909). The Gnessin Academy Chorus took part in the recording of the Cantata, while Ilya Kaler was the featured violin soloist for the Suite. The recording sessions took place at the Russian State TV & Radio Co. Kultura - Studio 5, Moscow, Russia, and were produced and engineered by Pavel Lavrenenkov.
