Alwyn Orchestral Music Recorded in Liverpool

June 25, 2007

From June 8 to 9, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra led by David Lloyd-Jones recorded various works by William Alwyn at the Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool, UK. Recorded were Autumn Legend, Fanfare for a Joyful Occasion, Concerto Grosso No. 2, Concerto Grosso No. 3, Overture to “The Moor of Venice”, and the Suite from the opera: “Miss Julie”.

The recording, produced by Andrew Walton and planned to be released on Naxos in 2008, is part of the cycle of the complete orchestral works of William Alwyn with the RLPO. These recordings are kindly supported by The William Alwyn Foundation.
