Mendelssohn String Quartets Recorded in Toronto

July 30, 2007

The New Zealand String Quartet has completed recording sessions for the second volume of the complete String Quartets of Felix Mendelssohn.

The NZSQ, established in 1987, is well-known and highly regarded for the broad expanse of the quartet repertoire which they perform, as well as for reaching across musical genres through their work with jazz artists and indigenous musicians.

Recorded were the Quartet in A minor, Op. 13 and Quartet in E flat major, Op. 44, No. 3, and the Capriccio Op. 81 No. 3. Sessions took place from July 18 to 21, at the St. Anne's Church in Toronto, Canada, and were produced and engineered by Norbert and Bonnie Kraft.
