Four World Première Flute Concertos Recorded

October 18, 2007

The Prague Chamber Orchestra and soloist Bruno Meier recorded a fascinating programme of world première flute concertos. Recorded were the Flute Concertos Nos.1 and 2 by Peter von Winter (1754-1825), both in d minor and written in 1813 when the composer was Kapellmeister in Munich, and a Flute concerto in d minor by Franz Lachner (1804-1890). These three works were discovered in autograph in the National Library, Munich, Germany. Completing the sessions was an E flat concerto by Antonio Rosetti (1750-1792) probably composed in 1776.

Sessions took place from September 10 to 16 at Studio Domovina in Prague, Czech Republic. The producer was Jiři Gemrot. Václav Roubal and Karel Soukeník were the engineers.
