Rashkovskiy Records Tchaikovsky's The Seasons

From November 1 to 2, young Siberian pianist Ilya Rashkovskiy recorded a programme of Tchaikovsky's piano music for Naxos at Potton Hall in Westleton, Suffolk, UK. Born in Irkutsk in 1984, Ilya Rashkovskiy, won his first international competition for young pianists in Marsala, Italy, at the age of ten. In 2005 he won the International Hong Kong Piano Competition and First Prize in Jaen, Spain.
Recorded were The Seasons, a suite of 12 pieces, each a portrait of one month of the year, together with the Sonata in C sharp minor, Op. 80. The sessions were produced and engineered by Michael Ponder.
