Rozsa Recorded in Hungary December 6, 2007
A new recording of Miklos Rozsa’s orchestral and concerto music was made in Hungary last November. The Budapest Concert Orchestra "MAV", conducted by Mariusz Smolij, recorded Rosza’s Hungarian Serenade, Op. 25, Three Hungarian Sketches Op. 14a and his Viola Concerto, Op. 37. The soloist was Gilad Karni, Principal Violist of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich and First Prize Winner of the 1994 Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition.
Sessions took place from November 7 to 10 at Hungarian Radio, Studio 22 in Budapest, Hungary, and were produced by Marius Smolij. Peter Aczel was the engineer. |
