Vol. 2 of Carlos Seixas Complete Works for Harpsichord Recorded
March 7, 2008
From 5 to 7 February, Débora Halasz recorded for Naxos the second volume of the complete music for harpsichord by Carlos Seixas (1704-1741), the greatest Portuguese composer of keyboard music of the Baroque period. Recorded were a total of 17 Sonatas in different tonalities from the Calouste Gulbenkian Edition.
The sessions took place at the Festsaal des Reitstadels in Neumarket, Germany and were produced by Lutz Wildner from Bayerischen Rundfunk in Nürnberg. For this recording the artist used her own instrument, a historic copy from an Hyeronimus Hass Harpsichord dated 1734.
