From 31 March to 1 April, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by their Musical Director JoAnn Falletta, recorded a programme of music by Richard Strauss. Falletta has been described as 'one of the finest conductors of her generation' by the New York Times. Her recent Naxos release with works by Respighi was a Gramophone Editor's Choice. Recorded were the Symphonic Fantasie from Die Frau ohne Schatten, Symphonic Fragment from the ballet Joseph Legend and the Symphonic Suite from Der Rosenkavalier. Tim Handley produced and engineered the sessions in Surround Sound.
