Alessandro Marangoni Plays Rossini Piano Music on Second Life February 17, 2009
In an exciting new project, acclaimed young Italian pianist Alessandro Marangoni will appear on Second Life, the Internet’s largest user-created 3D virtual world community.
From 4pm on 23 February 2009 (USA time - Second Life time) in the Main Auditorium on Utwig Sim in Second Life, he will become the avatar "Benito Flores" who bears an uncanny resemblance to the famous composer Rossini. American composer David Schwartz will interview ‘Benito’ about his new Naxos recording of Rossini’s piano music—Péchés de vieillesse, Vol. 2 (8.570766)—and‘Benito’ will play excerpts from the recording which will stream live on Second Life.

Alessandro Marangoni is recording Rossini’s complete piano music for Naxos. The first volume, Péchés de vieillesse (8.570590-91) has already been critically praised:
