Naxos Nets Three Cannes Classical Nominations

CANNES, FRANCE -- Two Naxos recordings and one Marco Polo recording have been nominated for the prestigious 2003 Cannes Classical Awards. Created by leading international music magazines to foster worldwide recognition of superior quality in classical recordings, the Cannes Classical Awards are selected by hundreds of critics across the globe. The Awards have honored the best in classical music for nearly a decade.

Chamber/Solo Instrumental 20th Century
BAX: String Quartets Nos.1 & 2 performed by the Maggini Quartet (8.555282)

Orchestral 20th Century
The White Box of the Complete Symphonies of Malcolm Arnold performed by the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland with Andrew Penny (8.505178)

Orchestral and Concerto: CD Premier
Joly BRAGA-SANTOS: Symphony No. 2 performed by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra with Alvaro Cassuto (8.225216)

Additionally, DVDs distributed by Naxos scored nominations in the following categories:
