'The Lighthouse' in Poole, Dorset was the venue for a new Bartok recording from the best-selling combination of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra & Marin Alsop, their Principal Conductor.

Marin Alsop, one of the most exciting conductors today, is perhaps best known for her recordings of American repertoire for Naxos and this foray into the European repertory will prove a welcome addition to the catalogue.

The works recorded were 'The Miraculous Mandarin' (complete), the 'Hungarian Sketches' & 'Dance Suite'.

Of particular interest is the alternative "Concert Ending" (from the Suite) to 'The Miraculous Mandarin' - which will allow listeners to hear and compare both conclusions.
