In the Studio
July 31, 2004

At the end of June, the National Orchestra of Lille and Jean Claude Casadesus accompanied the stunning French soprano, Veronique Gens in a recording of Joseph Canteloube's 'Songs of the Auvergne'.

For family reasons the Auvergne region holds a special significance for Veronique Gens, who has long nurtured a wish to record this repertoire.

The selection of 'Songs' recorded include Bailero; La Pastoura al Camps; Trois Bourrees; Pastourelle; L'Antoueno; La Delaissado; Passo Pel Prat; Lou Boussu and Brezairola.

Listeners won't have to wait long to hear the results of these sessions, as the CD will be released in November 2004.
