Naxos Invades Literature

Peter Robinson is one of today’s brightest crime novelists. He was born in Yorkshire but now lives in Canada, though he writes about England. His hero Inspector Banks is very musical and music and artists are often referred to in his books. Not record labels, though. But listen to this exchange between Inspector Banks and a woman viola player, from ‘Dead right’:

“I have been recording the Walton Viola Concerto. For Naxos. Finally the viola is getting some of the respect it deserves.”

“You were the soloist?”

She slapped his arm “No not me, you idiot I am not that good. The soloist was Lars Anders Tomter. He is very good.”

A good start for mentioning record labels isn’t it.
