Uwe Grodd and Janaki Trio Record Vanhal Flute Quartets for Naxos
New Zealand-based German flautist [and conductor] Uwe Grodd and the Janaki String Trio, winners of this year’s Concert Artists Guild Competition, got together in Toronto from June 12 to 15 to record Vanhal’s Op. 7 Flute Quartets.
They used a new edition published by Wellington-based Artaria Editions. The sessions took place at Grace Church and were produced by Norbert Kraft and Bonnie Silver. The recording will be released by Naxos as part of its “18th Century Chamber Music” series.
