Helsinki Baroque Orchestra Records Richter for Naxos
From October 26 to 28, 2005 the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra recorded six of Franz Xaver Richter’s twelve Paris symphonies, first published in 1744.
All twelve Paris symphonies of Richter [1709 -- 1789] were recently re-published by Artaria Editions [www.artaria.com], a specialized publishing company partly owned by Naxos.
The recordings will be issued in 2007 as part of the Naxos 18th Century Symphonies series. The orchestra, which plays on period instruments, was directed by Finnish harpsichordist/conductor Aapo Hakkinen.
The sessions took place at Olari Church in Espoo, Finland and were produced by Sean Lewis.
