Antoni Wit Records Karlowicz Symphonic Poems with New Zealand Symphony
From July 11 to 13, 2006 Antoni Wit recorded three symphonic poems by Polish composer Mieczyslaw Karlowicz [1876-1909] with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. The works recorded were Eternal Songs, Returning Waves and Sorrowful Tales. Mr. Wit will record the remaining symphonic poems with his own orchestra, the Warsaw Philharmonic, later this year. The recording sessions took place at Wellington’s historic Town Hall, a venue with ‘fantastic acoustics’, according to Tim Handley who produced and engineered.
