Dacapo Wins 3 Danish Classical Awards

On 23 September, the best Danish classical CDs of the year were announced at a gala concert in Copenhagen. Dacapo Records won in three categories: Classical CD of the Year, Orchestral CD of the Year and Classical Solo CD of the Year.

The P2 Danish Music Classical Awards are presented in cooperation with Danish Broadcasting Cooperation and the Danish Department of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. The winning albums were chosen by listeners of the Danish radio channel P2 who voted for their favorite album on the internet.

Classical CD of the Year: Los Angeles Street Concerto, with music of Thomas Koppel performed by flutist Michala Petri, the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra and Kremerata Baltica.

Classical Orchestral CD of the Year: Los Angeles Street Concerto

Classical Solo CD of the Year: L’Homme Armé, featuring the Danish cellist Morten Zeuthen who performs new works by Danish composers, Poul Ruders, Per Nørgård, Hans Abrahamsen and Vagn Holmboe among others.

Dacapo’s Danish releases are distributed all over the world by HNH International Ltd., distributor of Naxos and Marco Polo record labels.
