Andreas Spering Records Haydn’s Oratorio “Il Ritorno di Tobia”

From 4 to 12 September Andreas Spering conducted Capella Augustina and Vokal Ensemble Cologne for the recording of a seldom performed masterpiece by Joseph Haydn: the oratorio Il Ritorno di Tobia (“The Return of Tobias”), composed in 1774. The libretto is taken from the apocryphal Book of Tobit.

The soloists in this production are: Sophie Karthaeuser, Sara; Roberta Invernizzi, Raffaele; Ann Hallenberg, Anna; Anders Dahlin, Tobia; Nikolay Borchev, Tobit. Sessions took place at Deutschlandfunk in Cologne, Germany and were produced by Wolfgang Mitlehner.
