Matsumura Symphonies Recorded in Dublin

Conductor Takuo Yuasa, pianist Ikuyo Kamiya and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland just recorded various orchestral works by the Japanese composer Teizo Matsumura (1929): Symphonies No.1 and No.2 and To the Night of Gethsemane.

Mr.Yuasa commented on the recording sessions: “I always enjoy working with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland. The orchestra players were quick to comprehend the characteristics of Matsumura’s sound. Teizo Matsumura’s music is very intense, his music has a strong aspect of "Asian" character and is very unique in its approach to overall forms and structure”. Recording sessions took place at the National Concert Hall in Dublin and were produced by Tim Handley.
