A Record 5 Grammy Nominations for Naxos

January 4, 2002

Beverly Hills, California -- This year the Recording Academy of America has nominated Naxos recordings in five categories. These include two nominations each for the Schuman Violin Concerto, performed by Philip Quint, violin, and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jose Serebrier (Naxos American Classics) and for Poul Ruders's opera The Handmaid's Tale (Dacapo). Herve Niquet's Le Concert Spirituel recording of Boismortier's Serenades Francaises (Naxos) has been nominated in the Best Small Ensemble Performance category.
