Naxos Successful in Record Geijutsu Annual Reader Poll

Readers of Record Geijutsu vote Naxos the No. 2 Label in Japan

Every year, Record Geijutsu, Japan's leading classical music magazine, asks its readers to name their favourite label. The readers of Record Geijutsu are hard-core classical music fans. Here is the result of this year's vote:

1. DG
2. Naxos
3. EMI
4. Decca
5. Hyperion
6. RCA/BMG
7. Philips and Chandos
9. CPO and Teldec

This is the highest position Naxos has ever had and is proof of the success of Naxos in the world's most conservative market.

The readers also voted the Naxos Japanese Classical Favourites recording No. 8 of overall classical new releases in 2001 and No. 1 among recordings of 20th Century music.
