H.M. ROYAL MARINES BAND

Recognised as one of the finest musical bodies in the world, the Royal Marines Band Service provides musical support for the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines for every type of occasion. The origin of the Royal Marines Band Service goes back to the days of Drake and Hawkins, when drummers signalled the ‘changing watches’ or ‘beat the men to quarters’. There are seven bands that make up the Royal Marines Band Service, including the Plymouth Band, all of which have the ability to perform as an orchestra, dance band and world class symphonic wind orchestra. Their versatility, talent and traditions can be witnessed in concerts throughout the world.
