James Jordan is recognised and praised from many quarters in the musical world as one of America’s pre-eminent conductors, writers and innovators in choral music. He has been described as a “visionary” by the Choral Journal. His career and publications have been devoted to innovative educational changes in the choral art that have been embraced around the world. He is the author of thirty textbooks and DVDs and editor for several choral series. His choral conducting book, Evoking Sound, was cited as one of the six “must read” books by the Choral Journal. Dr Jordan is professor and senior conductor at Westminster Choir College of Rider University. In demand as a clinician, he has served as artist-in-residence for many leading institutions and ensembles in the United States. He also serves on panels for The National Endowment of the Arts and is director of the Westminster Conducting Institute, one of the leading programmes for conducting study in the United States.
