A. MATTHEW MAZZONI
A diversity of repertoire from the late Renaissance through world premières has earned pianist Matthew Mazzoni performance engagements throughout the United States and abroad. His performances, both as a soloist and collaborative artist, are noted for his sensitive artistry and musicianship. Collaborative projects with vocalists and instrumentalists have led to several recording projects, all of which involve premiere recordings of new and existing works. He is a frequent performer of the flute repertoire, with collaborative partners including Gary Schocker and Tadeu Coelho. A former member of the keyboard faculty at Murray State University, he has also taught for pre-college programs in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Kentucky, Indiana, and Michigan. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree and Performer Diploma from Indiana University. His principal teachers are Arthur Greene and Shigeo Neriki.
