ALBERTO ARRABAL

The Spanish baritone Alberto Arrabal was born in 1972 in Madrid where he studied singing at the Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid with Teresa Tourne and Rogelio Gavilanes. He won second prize at the Ciudad de Logro international singing competition in 2002, and second prize at the National Vocal Competition of La Vall d’Uixo in Castellon. Principal rôles include Renato in Un ballo in maschera (Verdi), Scarpia in Tosca (Puccini), Silvio in Pagliacci (Leoncavallo), Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor (Donizetti), Talbot in Maria Stuarda (Donizetti), and Escamillo in Carmen (Bizet). He has sung in all the most important Spanish theatres and under the direction of many conductors including Plácido Domingo, Roberto Tolomelli, Steven Mercurio, Janos Acs, Helena Herrera, Alexei Baklan, Anatoly Boichenko, Gregorio Gutierrez, Miguel Roa, Miguel Ortega, Enrique Patron de Rueda, Luis Remartinez, Jose Gomez, Jose Fabra, and Tulio Gagliardo.
