ALBERTO RINALDI Alberto Rinaldi made his début at Spoleto in the title rôle of Simone Boccanegra. This was followed by engagements in leading theatres throughout Italy. He made his début at La Scala in Milan in 1966 as Ottone in Monteverdis Lincoronazione di Poppea, the beginning of an international career that has taken him to Covent Garden, Glyndebourne, the Paris Opéra, La Monnaie in Brussels, the Vienna State Opera, the Bavarian Opera in Munich, Cologne, Zurich and elsewhere. In America he has appeared at the Metropolitan Opera, Chicago, and San Francisco, and is a frequent performer at La Scala. He has a number of recordings to his credit, performing again with conductors and colleagues of the highest distinction.
