ALENA GORINA

Pianist Alena Gorina was born in Minsk, Belarus, into a family of engineers. Her first performance with the Byelorussian Symphony Orchestra took place at the National Concert Hall when she was twelve years old. In 1996, she obtained the Diploma of the National Conservatory as a concert performer, artist of ensembles, concertmaster, and a special instrument teacher. Her performances in Kishinev, Moldova, and Kiev, Ukraine earned her the Diplomas of Piano International Competitions. In 1997, she took part in the master-course of contemporary music in Vienna where she played concerts and received a Diploma. In 2001, the Bahrain Music Institute invited her to work as a piano instructor. For two years, she led some hundred students there and played recital concerts at the Art Center. Alena Gorina holds a Master Degree from Bowling Green State University and a DMA earned at the University of Texas at Austin. Her principal teachers have been Vladimir Dulov, Maxim Mogilevsky, and Nancy Garrett.
