ANDREAS BURKHART

The bass Andreas Burkhart was born in 1984 in Munich and was from 1992 to 1999 an alto in the Tölz Boys’ Choir, appearing as a soloist and chorister under conductors including Claudio Abbado, Lorin Maazel and James Levine in European operas houses. From 2002 to 2005 he was a member of the Bavarian Singakademie, with a promotional award from the Bavarian Music Council. In 2004 he was awarded a scholarship by the German Stage Union and won first prize in the solo song category at the Jugend Musiziert competiion. A scholarship from the Detmold Musikhochschule enabled him to participate in 2005 in a master-course with Christian Vogel. He studies at the Munich Hochschule für Musik und Theater with Frieder Lang.
