Clarinetist Andrew Lamy has received consistent critical acclaim for his sweet, colourful tone, liquid phrasing, fluid technique, and his energetic performance style. He has performed many live international broadcasts with the Met Opera and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, has performed with the Artis Quartet of Vienna, and runs the eclectic Mixed-Flock Project. His solo engagements include concerto performances with the Knoxville Symphony and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed with the New York Philharmonic, ABT, American Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Opera of London, and the St. Louis Symphony. Andrew Lamy has studied and recorded Irish traditional music with master musicians Brian Conway and Mary Bergin, and became a Gold medalist for Comhaltas Mid-Atlantic Music Competition in 2013. He teaches at William Paterson University and his private students have won positions in the Milwaukee and Pacific Symphonies and hold Principal Clarinet chairs in the Nashville Symphony and the Idaho Philharmonic. Andrew Lamy is an Associate Naturalist for NJ Audubon and the federal The North American Landbird Monitoring Project. He has studied instrument-making and metal crafting with Michael Copeland and MacArthur Fellow Ubaldo Vitali and produces a line of fine birdsong instruments.
