ANTONELLO ALLEMANDI Antonello Allemandi has established himself as one of his generation's most interesting conductors. His international career has brought performances in the world’s most prestigious theatres and opera houses, including the Metropolitan in New York, Houston Grand Opera, Dallas Opera, Seattle Opera, Covent Garden in London, the Vienna State Opera, Opéra Bastille in Paris, the Berlin Deutsche Oper and Staatsoper, the Bavarian State Opera in Münich, the Hamburg State Opera, Semperoper in Dresden, the Leipzig Opera, Madrid Teatro Real, Barcelona Liceu, New National Theatre and Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo, Teatro Regio and Festival Verdi (2005, 2007) in Parma, Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro (1990, 2005, 2007), the Rome Teatro dell'Opera, Bologna Teatro Comunale, Turin Teatro Regio, and Palermo Teatro Massimo. He has recorded Donizetti's Elvida, Francesca di Foix and Mercadante's Maria Stuarda (Opera Rara), Verdi’s Ernani (Dynamic), and Simon Boccanegra (live from the Festival of Santander). In Bilbao, where he conducted thirty different opera productions, he received the Médaille d’or on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the ABAO.
