The Arbor Piano Trio first collaborated in concerts and recordings in the Czech Republic and have continued their career with concerts across the United States. The pianist Dmitri Vorobiev won the Casagrande International Piano Competition in Italy in 1994 and has performed with various orchestras in South Africa, Italy and the United States and elsewhere in recital. He received his training in his native Moscow, and also at the North Carolina School of the Arts, Manhattan School of Music and the University of Michigan. He is on the piano faculty at the University of Northern Iowa School of Music and Cambridge International String Academy. The violinist Stephen B. Shipps began his career as a member of the Cleveland Orchestra, associate concertmaster of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and concertmaster of the Dallas Opera and Omaha Symphonies. As a chamber musician, he was a member of the Amadeus and Meadowmount Piano Trios. He studied with Josef Gingold at Indiana University, with Ivan Galamian and Sally Thomas at the Meadowmount School and with Franco Gulli at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena. He serves as Professor of Violin at the University of Michigan and is artistic director of the Cambridge International String Academy. The cellist Richard L. Aaron is professor of cello at the University of Michigan and The Juilliard School. Previously he taught at the Cleveland Institute of Music and the New England Conservatory, and has given masterclasses in Spain, Germany, France, Korea, Japan, China and Australia, as well as at many of the leading music schools in North America. Since 2003, Aaron has been on the faculty of the Aspen Music Festival.
