BENOIT FROMANGER Born in Paris, Benoît Fromanger studied the flute at the Versailles Conservatoire and the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique, where his teachers included Roger Bourdin, Jean-Pierre Rampal and Alain Marion. He won various competitions and the Paribas Prize, and his recordings with labels including EMI, Philips, Forlane, Tudor, and Sony won distinctions such as the Grand Prix de l’Académie du Disque Français and the Diapason d’or. He has appeared with various orchestras in Europe, the United States and Asia, collaborating with ensembles including the Bavarian Radio Sympony Orchestra under Lorin Maazel and the Berlin Philharmonic. He has worked with leading conductors and is Professor of the Flute at the Berlin Hanns Eisler Hochschule.
