BORIS BROVTSYN

The violinist Boris Brovtsyn has established himself as one of the most versatile musicians of his generation. He is in ever-increasing demand all around the world both as concerto soloist and as chamber musician. He is a frequent guest at “Les Grands Interpretes” chamber music series in Geneva and Spectrum Concerts Berlin, where he has appeared in every season since 2008. A fourth-generation musician, he started to play the violin under the guidance of his grandfather, a student of Lev Tzeitlin and Abram Yampolsky. After graduating from Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory where he studied with Maya Glezarova, he made his UK début with the BBC Philharmonic conducted by Rumon Gamba. He completed his studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with David Takeno. He has performed with conductors such as Sir Neville Marriner, Neemi Järvi, Marek Janowski, Vassili Sinaisky, Jan Pascal Tortelier, Gerd Albrecht, Alexander Vedernikov, Arvo Volmer and Antoni Wit, with orchestras including the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Warsaw Philharmonic, Berliner Rundfunk, Sao Paulo Symphony, Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields, BBC Symphony, and the BBC Philharmonic and Scottish orchestras.
