CALLITHUMPIAN CONSORT

Founded by Stephen Drury in the 1980s, the Callithumpian Consort is a professional ensemble producing concerts of contemporary music and is in residence at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. Its repertoire encompasses a wide stylistic spectrum from the classics of the last hundred years to works of the avant-garde and experimental jazz and rock. The consort has worked closely with composers John Cage, Frederic Rzewski, Helmut Lachenmann, Michael Finnissy, Jonathan Harvey, Lee Hyla, John Zorn, John Luther Adams, Franco Donatoni, Lukas Foss, Christian Wolff, Jo Kondo and many others. Recordings are available on Tzadik, Mode, and New World Records.
