CAMPANIA CHAMBER ORCHESTRA The Campania Chamber Orchestra was founded in 2002 by Luigi Piovano and Liberato Santarpino. Under the musical and artistic guidance of Luigi Piovano, the orchestra has performed with success in major concerts both in Italy and abroad, collaborating with soloists and conductors of great prestige, including Myung-Whun Chung, Luis Bacalov, François-Joël Thiollier, Sara Mingardo, Gemma Bertagnolli, Pablo De Neveran, Nello Salza, Luisa Prayer, Francesco Nicolosi, Marcello Bufalini, Reyko Watanabe, Sergio Bustric, and the dance company Excursus, always acclaimed by both audiences and the press.
Since 2004 the Campania Chamber Orchestra has been the resident orchestra of the Pompei International Festival and has released a recording of Italian music of the eighteenth century (Artemide) and a DVD which includes the best performances of the Festival and collaborations with all the above-mentioned artists. The orchestra’s activities have included, during the 2006/2007 concert season, a concert tour of Japan.
