The Italian percussionist, conductor, pianist, teacher and composer, Carlo Miotto has a strong interest and experience in various areas of production and musical knowledge. He is active as a performer and conductor with orchestras and chamber music groups, focusing particularly on twentieth-century repertoire and the promotion of new works. He has been involved in the Verona Risuona festival for several years, creating many unique performances. He has also conducted and recorded works by Monteverdi and Mozart using period instruments. A cofounder of the Orchestra Giovanile Veronese, he has built relations with isolated communities in North Africa, travelling frequently to the Sahel region, including Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso and Algeria.
