CAROL ANN DUFFY  

(b 1955 )

Carol Ann Duffy is the Poet Laureate. Her previous work includes the libretto for The Magic Flute for Tim Supple’s production for Opera North. Her poetry collections include Rapture (winner of the T.S. Eliot Award) and The World’s Wife. Her Selected Poems are published by Picador and her New and Collected Poems for Children by Faber. She has received every major poetry award, including the Whitbread and Forward Prizes for Mean Time; the Somerset Maugham Award, the Dylan Thomas Award, the Cholmondely Award, the Eric Gregory Award and the Signal Prize for children’s verse. Carol Ann Duffy has published over thirty books for children and adults and has received both an OBE and a CBE for services to poetry. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
