CHAMBER ORCHESTRA OF NEW YORK The Chamber Orchestra of New York ‘Ottorino Respighi’ is a professional orchestra founded by composer/conductor Salvatore Di Vittorio in New York, NY in 2006 on the 250th anniversary of the birth of W.A. Mozart. Its début was held on 11 October 2007 at Zankel Hall, Carnegie Hall. Following European models, the Chamber Orchestra is one of the first auditioned orchestras in the history of New York to be entirely devoted to leading young professional musicians. A principal aim is the promotion of the music of Ottorino Respighi and other Italian masters, together with the standard orchestral repertoire. The Chamber Orchestra’s Honorary Board includes Elsa Pizzoli Mazzacane and Gloria Pizzoli Mangini (great nieces of Ottorino Respighi), Potito Pedarra (Respighi scholar and archive curator), and Luigi Verdi (Respighi musicologist).
