CLAIRE SEATON

Claire Seaton studied at the Birmingham School of Music and the Royal Academy of Music with Rae Woodland, Kenneth Bowen, and later with Linda Esther-Grey. Following contracts with Opéra de Lyon and Opera Europa she made her Glyndebourne Festival Opera début in 1999 singing the rôle of Vitellia (La clemenza di Tito), further rôles were Ellen Orford (Peter Grimes) and the Countess (Le nozze di Figaro). In early music she has worked with The Tallis Scholars and Gabrieli Consort, with whom she made her BBC Proms début in Handel’s Dixit Dominus. Her recordings include Allegri’s Miserere (Regent Records), The Believer in Rutland Boughton’s Bethlehem (Hyperion) and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater and the world première of Jonathan Dove’s The far theatricals of day (Fleet Street Records).
