DAVID OBERG David Oberg is the artistic director and conductor of the newly established Orchestra of Discovery, based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Until 2004 he was music director and conductor of the Chamber Orchestra of Albuquerque. He has conducted numerous orchestras, including the Arkansas Symphony, the Lexington Philharmonic, the Milton Keynes City Orchestra (England), and frequently, the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra (NPRSO). David Oberg received the 2005 Bravo Award for Music Excellence from the Albuquerque Arts Alliance (Creative Albuquerque). He was chair of the University of New Mexico John D. Robb Musical Trust and now is an active honorary member of the Trust. He serves as an advisory panelist for New Mexico Arts, a division of the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs, and the National Endowment for the Arts. He is also an instructor on musical topics for The Institute for LifeLong Learning for New Mexicans. In addition to his Naxos releases, David Oberg has conducted numerous recordings with the NPRSO for the North/South and Opus One labels.
