DAVID CRESCENZI

A pianist, orchestra conductor and chorus master, David Crescenzi began his studies at the Conservatory of Fermo, later obtaining diplomas in Band Instrumentation, Choral Music and Choral Conducting from the Conservatory of Pesaro. For several years he was the assistant and collaborator of Alessio Vlad, and a student of Gustav Khun, whose advanced courses at Milan’s I Pomeriggi Musicali he frequented between 1993 and 1996. He began his twenty-year long career as a répétiteur and substitute conductor in various theatres and lyrical festivals, both in Italy and abroad; currently, he works as a conductor and chorus master. Among his more notable engagements have been his collaboration with the Cairo Opera theatre (Egypt); as guest conductor, between 1998 and 2003, he conducted Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia, L’occasione fa il ladro, La cambiale di matrimonio and Il Signor Bruschino, Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore, Puccini’s Tosca, and Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera. From 1999 to 2001 he worked as additional chorus-master at Genoa’s Teatro Carlo Felice and in the same position at the Naples’s Teatro San Carlo during the 2004/2005 season. From 2002 to 2005 he was guest conductor at the National Theatre of Timisoara.
