BRUNO DE SIMONE Born in Naples, Bruno de Simone has specialised in comic opera of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, from Cimarosa to Rossini and Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi. For some ten years he has undertaken buffo rôles at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, with appearances at La Scala under Riccardo Muti and guest engagements in Venice, Florence, Zurich, Berlin and with the Vienna State Opera in a tour to Tokyo. At the Pesaro Rossini Festival he made a guest appearance in La pietra del paragone, L’equivoco stravagante, Il barbiere di Siviglia and others.
