DESIREE SCUCCUGLIA Désirée Scuccuglia was born in Terni and started piano studies at a young age, passing her diploma with the maximum number of marks, with merit and honourable mention under Fausto Mastroianni, and going on to specialise with Michele Marvulli, Lucia Passaglia and Bruno Canino. She took a three-year higher diploma in chamber music at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia Foundation in Rome under Riccardo Filippini, again with full marks. She studied with the Trio di Trieste at the Accademia Chigiana and the Scuola Superiore di Musica da Camera in Duino, and with the Trio di Milano at the Fiesole Scuola di Musica. She has won a number of scholarships and competitions, both as a soloist and for chamber music, and from the age of twelve gave recitals for leading concert associations in Italy and abroad. She has played in courses and master-classes given by distinguished Italian and foreign musicians. Since 2004 she has served as pianist with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma of the Arts Academy Foundation conducted by Francesco La Vecchia and as music assistant for recordings.
