ELENA BELFIORE

Born in Genoa in 1976, the mezzo-soprano Elena Belfiore graduated at the Niccolò Paganini Conservatory in that city under the guidance of Gabriella Ravazzi. Among the most promising young singers in the operatic repertoire, she has appeared in important opera houses including the Semperoper in Dresden (La Cenerentola), Staatsoper in Berlin (Il barbiere di Siviglia), La Monnaie in Brussels (Falstaff), the Staadttheater in St Gallen (La Cenerentola), the Berlin Deutsche Oper (La scala di seta), Zurich Opernhaus (Le nozze di figaro), New Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv (Les contes d’Hoffmann), the Garsington Festival (L’equivoco stravagante), the Pesaro Rossini Opera Festival (international première of Azio Corghi’s Isabella and Il turco in Italia), the Genoa Teatro Carlo Felice (Il barbiere di Siviglia, Orlando Furioso, Don Giovanni), Turin Teatro Regio (Le nozze di Figaro) and Bologna Teatro Comunale (Il barbiere di Siviglia and Die Zauberflöte). She has collaborated with such important conductors as Frédéric Chaslin, Myung Whun Chung, Alan Curtis, Asher Fisch, Riccardo Frizza, Ivan Fischer, Daniele Gatti, Lü Jia, Vladimir Jurowski, Jiri Kout, Lorin Maazel, Kazushi Ono, David Parry, Stefano Ranzani, Julian Reynolds, Corrado Rovaris, Carlo Rizzi, Julien Salemkour and Alberto Zedda.
