The cellist Emmanuel Feldman enjoys an active career as soloist, chamber musician, recording artist, champion of new music and educator. He has been soloist with the Boston Pops, Nashville Chamber Orchestra, BMOP, New England String Ensemble and many others, was invited to participate in the Marlboro Music Festival, has collaborated with Gilbert Kalish, Richard Stoltzman, Joy Cline Phinney, Jennifer Frautschi, and the Borromeo String Quartet, and appeared as soloist with pop and jazz artist Bobby McFerrin.

His solo CD Rider on The Plains, for Albany Records and featuring Virgil Thomson’s Cello Concerto, was nominated for a 2008 Grammy award for producer Blanton Alspaugh (producer of the year). He has also recorded for Naxos, Arsis, Zimbel, and MMC. He has given premières of cello works by  Aaron Kernis, Richard Danielpour, Gunther Schuller, and many others.

He is a co-founder of Cello e Basso with bassist Pascale Delache-Feldman. He has performed at the Pablo Casals, Schleswig-Holstein, Yellow Barn, Killington, and Summit Music Festivals. A Curtis Institute graduate with studies at the Paris Conservatoire, Feldman is on the cello faculty at New England Conservatory and Tufts and Brown Universities.
