Erika le Roux was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. She won prizes at International Piano Competitions in Pretoria and Montevideo. In 1992 she was awarded the Grand Prix de Musique Panafricain by UNESCO. In South Africa she appeared regularly as soloist with all symphony orchestras. In Germany she has established herself as a concert pianist, chamber musician and Lieder accompanist of Yvonne Naef and Allan Evans, appearing with the Hessisches Staatsorchester, Staatsphilharmonie Mainz, Rheinland Pfalz Staatsphilharmonie and Rheinland Pfalz Youth Orchestra. She performed at the Festivals of Schleswig-Holstein, Rheingau, Rheinvokal, Wiesbaden Mozartgesellschaft, Wiesbadener Maifestspiele, Villa Musica, NDR Hannover and at the Brucknerhalle Linz, Zürich Opera, Tonhalle Luzern and many more. Her concert series “Music at Midday” has become a popular Wiesbaden tradition.
