SHANG-E FAN

Fan Shange was born in 1942 and studied the piano at the Shanghai Conservatory before turning to the guzheng, which she studied under teachers of different schools. In 1967 she joined the Beijing Film Orchestra with which she appeared frequently in many parts of China. She appeared in broadcast frequently and toured abroad, playing in Japan, Switzerland, Greece, Belgium, Luxemburg, Sweden and Norway. She also took part in the Asian Composers League Conference in Hong Kong in 1981, later appearing as a soloist in Canada. She emigrated to Canada in 1992.
