FRANCISCUS BOSSINENSIS (1485 - 1535)
Musically we are more aware of Franciscus Bossinensis, though there is uncertainty of his country of origin. We know that he spent much of his life working in and around Venice. He was a composer of both vocal works with lute accompaniment, and lute solos. Passed down we have 172 works, though there is just a question mark over some scores, whether they are arrangements or originals. In format they do not show a progressive composer, but one of considerable merit.
